Your Role Within the Company:
Execute Supplier Development Strategies
Implement supplier specific cost improvement programs yielding at least YOY 5.5% savings.
Translate sourcing strategies into actionable programs that drive cost improvement and sustain supply assurance.
Consult with commodity management team to map strategies, negotiate with suppliers and build appropriate supply agreements (STA, LTA, and NDA’s).
Lead sourcing initiatives and implement business strategies that directly affect company financials and growth plans.
Identify value engineering initiatives and leads supplier based VATF & OPEX activities.
Lead discussions on commercial supply issues concerning critical suppliers and timely resolution of critical supply issues
Ensures early involvement of sourcing in New Product Development (NPD) projects.
Project Management & Metrics
Act as the primary point of contact with the suppliers, the R&D designers, process engineers and planner/buyers, for material technical and quality related communication.
Manage key sourcing metrics, including sole source reduction, LCC expansion, PPV and delta P inflation/deflation.
Prepare and provide monthly updates along with tracking key performance metrics and material variances.
Prepares and presents supplier scorecards and updates, cost trends and material variance reports
Support manufacturing during various stages of the product life cycle, including new product development, transfers, qualification and existing product ramp-up and capacity increases.
Drive supplier development and operational excellence activities to eliminate waste from the supply chain process.
Lead site level compliance to quality and regulatory policies related to supplier management, and monitor/ correct supplier issues.
Develop and maintain as applicable the Supplier Quality Plan together with the quality representatives from the development teams and suppliers. Schedule and conduct review/audit of Supplier Quality Plan as required.
Complete records, documentation and training as required.
Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures as notified.
Process & Relationship Management
Utilize Sourcing Excellence to implement standardize processes & best practices sharing.
Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the process for selection, evaluation, and approval of suppliers
Build effective relationships both internal and external and interface with senior management as required.
Identify continuous improvements opportunities where possible and take part in improvement projects as assigned.

Financial acumen; strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and savings drivers.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, engineering and manufacturing.
Audit and problem solving skills to effectively analyze, interpret and apply continuous improvement to supply chain situations
Ability to discuss technical problems with R&D designers and regarded as a technical subject matter expert with strong decision making skills
Working knowledge of SAP systems, Cognos Spend Analyzer, Spend manager, Ariba, SPM Agile, Emptoris systems and manufacturing processes.
Ability to travel within the US and Canada as required to visit plants and/or suppliers
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, Power Point, and MS project applications
Bachelor’s degree required; Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related major preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Certification from the Institute of Supply Management (CPM / CPIM) or equivalent, Project Management, highly desirable
5-10 years of experience in engineering support for manufacturing plant, with strong emphasis in project management
Knowledge of process controls and programming, equipment design, electrical and instrumentation drawings, PLC programming PC-based operator interface
Lean and/or Six Sigma experience required
