The Corporate Controller will direct the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management in cooperation with the Director of Finance and President/CEO. Responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, accounting policies , accounting practices, conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and financial community, maintenance of its fiscal records and preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, computer software systems and budgetary controls. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for communicating and working with an auditing CPA firm and the preparation of tax returns with the Director of Finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with the Director of Finance to develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
Oversee and monitor the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
Helps to coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and controlling procedures, and analyzes and report variances.
Furnishes internal financial reports with executive management team, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and provides external reports as necessary along with the Director of Finance.
Review, evaluate and write new accounting and company policies and procedures.
Maintain and monitor Falcon process and issues.
Oversee the general ledger and journal entries on a daily basis.
Responsible for evaluating the specific performance of personnel in the accounting department.
4 year degree in Accounting; Masters degree and/or CPA preferred
Multi-division and/or multi-state knowledge
IT oversight and comprehensive understanding
Proven Supervisory and Leadership skills
10 years of accounting and supervisory experience
Team of 15 to include: AR/AP Staff, HR staff including Safety, and IT
