Head Diesel Mechanic – Foreman

Our client has been in the farm machinery and irrigation business for over 65 years! They have a long history of providing quality, honest service to its customers, and now have a need to add to their service team!
We are evaluating candidates for the position of Head Diesel Mechanic. This level must be able and willing to work with little direction and possess the ability to make sound decisions in the best interest of the company and customer. Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
Complete work in a safe, professional and timely manner.
Diagnose the correct failure mode, using technical manuals and special tools.
Perform complete component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning.
Perform repair of all machine systems and components.
Demonstrate skills to other technicians as asked and/or required.
Maintain an organized and clean work area.
Participate in all training programs as directed.
Safely operate all machines marketed by dealership.
Promote safety, quality workmanship and customer service at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:
3+ years experience in a related field.
Diesel Technology or similar degree required.
Diagnose both gasoline and diesel engines.
Diagnose and repair hydrostatic systems and transmissions.
Must be able to perform majority of tasks without supervision.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write diagnosis and work completed on routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively one on one or before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to use personal computer and various types of diagnostic equipment.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to demonstrate leadership throughout the Service Department.

Begin earning 4 hours of PTO per month immediately, and 8 hours of PTO in 3rd year of employment.
Health benefits are paid at 80% by the company, and have a $500 deductible.
Retirement is offered with a 3% match.
A strong base salary with up to $20,000 in additional annual bonus/compensation.
