Provide support to end users on a variety of technical issues. Identify, research, and resolve technical support issues. Install, modify, and make minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems. Monitor service performance and help scale service capacity and efficiency to meet demand. Track inventory (equipment and supplies). Maintain proper documentation and logs. Perform backups on systems.
Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user’s premises, following design or installation specifications.
Installs into computers specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs.
Answers client’s inquiries in person and via telephone concerning systems operation; diagnoses system hardware, software, operator problems; and recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
Attends technical conferences and seminars to keep abreast of new software and hardware product developments.
Assists users with computer system hardware problems.
Works with vendors on arranging repairs.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to the support and administration of the Company’s IT assets.
Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
2 or more years of college with course work in Computer Science or related discipline
Three years related experience supporting a Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing or Distribution environment
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification required
